Something Shared

Frascati Theater and Vlaams Cultuurhuis de Brakke Grond

From February 9th through February 13th 2016, the fourteenth edition of Something Raw Festival will take place in Theater Frascati, Vlaams Cultuurhuis de Brakke Grond and Veem House for Performance. Like every year, we’ve put together a programme with works that surprise, challenge, and disorient, by choreographers and performance artists from the Netherlands, Belgium and further abroad. In this edition, which carries the subtitle ‘Exit Man’, the theme of posthumanism is an important undercurrent: many of the works challenge the centrality of human existence or question the relationship between man, nature and machine.

This year we’re again organizing a side programme under the name ‘Something Shared’. A group of young choreographers and performance artists will be in attendance throughout the Something Raw Festival. Five days of exchange and reflection on the productions and theme of the festival will take place under the guidance of curator, dramaturg and artist Dries Douibi. You are very welcome to attend the public presentation of this process on the last day of the festival. The form in which the group will share its findings is yet to be decided; this will be prompted by the composition of the group and their experiences during the festival.
