10x10 Day House!
In 2017 Veem House for Performance decided to transform to the ‘100 Day House’. The 100 Day House was a statement, an enforced action through which we wanted to reveal a problem. We chose quality above quantity. For 100 Days the house was filled with voices; old and new, young and established, coming from the arts and beyond, coming from Amsterdam and abroad. We connected, investigated and entered into dialogue with our audience. We experienced a great demand for continuity, commitment, community, care and solidarity.
That’s why we introduce: 10x10 Day House. Ten times, spread throughout the season and the city, Veem House manifests itself as the House for Dance and Performance in Amsterdam – for its artists, for its audiences, for Amsterdam and for the international community. As a follow up on the 100 Day House statement and the desire to be present all year.
The 10x10 Day House investigates what a House for Dance and Performance can be, now and in the future. Veem House is welcoming artists to work and present, welcoming spectators to meet and discuss. Exploring what performance can and should be in movement, time, and discourse; questioning what we take as given, performing new proposals for ways of looking, and taking us on journeys to unknown worlds.
A place for art, politics, ideas and people to meet.
