Time (working title)
Schwalbe
It seems that people have ‘never been so busy’ in history before, even though human kind grows older than ever and the days are imperceptibly longer, with 0.017 milliseconds per year to be precise. Time is the result of the force of gravity. Time is physical. Our perception of time is dependent upon anchor points: night and day time, recurring hunger, thirst, sleep, suboptimal system of the stroke and the growth and decay of our bodies.
The theatre lends itself ideally to approach time as a topic, because in a theatre, where the walls are black and the light shines forever, the time can be constructed without external influence. Empires may rise and fall in an hour and a half with the certainty that afterwards the bar will still be open. In TIME theatre collective Schwalbe asks the audience ‘to temporarily let go of time’. To swap regulated time for experience. To take place, to come close, to leave (to get a Snickers), to exchange perspective, going into opposition, build a nest, to spend the night, to wake up and to see something else or the same things as before.
This event is free.
