SNDO 4 Graduation works 2016

SNDO

The 4th year students of the SNDO – School for New Dance Development graduate by creating two works next to writing a thesis and completing their internship. The first works are usually presented in March/April, the second ones in June. All these programs take place in venues outside the school offering the students professional working conditions and the artistic context.

This year’s programs are presented in two theaters in Amsterdam. Lester Arias, Maciej Sado, Ida Katinka Fridan Pedersen and Son of Mom present their work on 31 March, 1 and 2 April in Veem House for Performance. The other group of students, Maria Metsalu, Samira Elagoz, Tiana Hemlock-Jensen, Nadia Bekkers and Sabine Cmelniski, will present their work at Frascati on 24, 25 and 26 March.

Both programs travel to Berlin in April, to be presented at Uferstudios within the context of an exchange between Berlin based BA program of HZT and SNDO.

The Curating and Performance course runs parallel to students individual creation processes. In this course they explore the notion of curating within the performing arts field. The practices covered in the course include the development of curatorial frameworks for the production and presentation of the graduation works. The course commissioned by SNDO is conceived and led by Susan Gibb and Frederique Bergholtz, of If I Can’t Dance I Don’t Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution.
