Open Studio with Hidde Aans-Verkade & Koen van der Heijden and Sigrid Stigsdatter Mathiassen & Antonia Steffens
During our February 10 x 10 days, we are opening our doors and schedules for two residencies: Sigrid Stigsdatter Mathiassen & Antonia Steffens and Hidde Aans-Verkade & Koen van der Heijden (Performance collective ROTOR). They open the doors of their rehearsal room for Open Studio!
Sigrid Stigsdatter Mathiassen & Antonia Steffens
Sigrid and Antonia will share their questions and research as it relates to their work Spinner, currently in development. For Open Studio, they are interested in how far their practice can activate awareness of what lies beyond the visible (effective) plane and how that feels for a spectator. The piece situates a landscape of elements which is responded to, activated and re-interrogated. Both Sigrid and Antonia graduated from SNDO and are actively involved in the Amsterdam dance scene as choreographers, dancers, initiators – Sigrid is a member of Jacuzzi and Antonia a co-initiator of Unfamiliarities, a platform for sharing works in progress.

Performance collective ROTOR will look for the process of erosion in movement; the movement impacts the space and the space impacts the movement. They will physically research this dialogue. During Open Studio Hidde and Koen will have a conversation about time and space with philosopher and artist Hella Godee. How is it that we can experience the time from moment to moment so differently?
