Veem House Dinner #6 – From your Home to our House
MOHA Project - Alice Pons and Olivia Reschofsky
Join Veem House and MOHA for an experiment of exchange. We can’t reveal too much, the mystery is part of it. Here are some clues to whet your appetite: exchange stories, food, and recipes.
Sharing a meal together is an enriching way to meet, exchange thoughts and share space. That’s why we organize Veem House Dinners each month in collaboration with our neighbourhood, artists, and other guests! In these monthly dinners we eat while engaging with one of the thematic lines of Veem 10X10. From September, the Veem House Dinners are hosted by MOHA Project.
On Saturday the 24th we would have had a cozy Veem House Dinner. MOHA would have asked us to share our favorite recipes. Our childhood lasagna, Grandma’s banana cake, and the stories behind the flavours. The dinner we made to impress our lover, that time we were depressed and someone brought us our favourite cake. With new COVID-19 regulations the dinner cannot proceed as planned, but no worries because we have a plan B.
It will only ask for a little time of preparation and a short moment of “online” gathering on Saturday evening the 24th of October at 19h00. If you’re up for a little mystery and a tasteful adventure reserve a (free) spot! (update: reservations have closed)
About MOHA Project
MOHA is an Amsterdam-based artist collective who create performances, present workshops, devise publications, and propose alternative curatorial models. Operating outside conventional art institutions, MOHA works in public spaces and with specific communities, aiming to shatter our personal bubbles and connecting with the day-to-day realities of people we might never otherwise encounter.
MOHA works with shop owners, maintenance workers, and butchers. MOHA cleans. MOHA cuts grass. MOHA does babysitting. MOHA makes sandwiches. MOHA makes socks. MOHA listens. MOHA becomes multi-functional art-workers, organizers, caretakers, truck drivers, waitresses, social workers, mediators, cleaners, improvised urbanists and hosts. Their position in relation to the contexts they are working in is always in question. Are they part of the building’s maintenance team? Are they a bad entertainment act? Are they the artists? As MOHA strives to understand the different structures that surround us, MOHA becomes the structures themselves.
From 2021, MOHA Project will be a House Artist of Veem House for Performance
24 October 2020
Participation is free. You can sign up until Thursday 22 October, 12h00.
10×10 October: International Exchange
Collaborations for our 10×10 October program have launched with enthusiasm, paused with reluctance, have taken a different turn or gradually became impossible but we remained agile. While we’ve made countless adaptations, we’re happy to announce that we will indeed create 10 days of International Exchange from the 22nd – 31st of October! Of course taking all the safety measures in consideration. Read about them here.
This 10×10 edition is all about International Exchange as Veem House for Performance has been an international production house for more then three decades. Over the past 30 years, Veem-productions could be seen all over the world and many international artists were welcomed and programmed in our house. As crossing country borders is difficult at the moment, some parts of that exchange will happen online.
